Μembers of the NT and Distance Learning Laboratory participate in various actions promoting interconnection with the community at both local and national levels.
Specifically, the Director of the Laboratory is:
1. Founding president and member of the Epirus Road Accident Prevention Association, and
actively participates in the events and actions of the Association. These actions include
- the creation of digital material aimed at preschoolers about the protection against traffic accidents.
2. Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Clearchos Papadiamantis Foundation (2011 - 2018)
3. Responsible for the establishment and creation of the Children's University,
as announced at the General Assembly of Early Childhood Education Department aiming at:
- providing an integrated and beneficial learning environment.
- providing information that will create environmentally-conscious citizens.
- enhancing children's artistic inclinations.
- contributing to students’ ICT literacy.
- promoting students’ interest of students in science.
- enhancing interest in lifelong learning
The activities of the Children's University so far involve:
Lectures: The lectures gave the children the opportunity to get acquainted with the amphitheater and the specific way of teaching, adapted to the childrens’ age and perception skills.
Workshops: Visits to the workshops of the department and discussions about their research in a simplified form.
Participation in events: Organization and participation of children in University events either as spectators or actively participating (such as in the graduation ceremony).
4. Responsible for a series of open courses for High School students
High school students are trained with the help of collaborators of the Laboratory, on issues related to the applications of new technologies and their future utilization by themselves, through small workshops. The free open workshops took place at the University, at the Department of Early Childhood Education , on 14th (Saturday) and 15th (Sunday) December 2019. This was a pilot program aiming at informing the high school students of our city about ICT, innovation and entrepreneurship.
5. Responsible for information on internet security issues and GDPR.

6. Scientific cooperation with the Municipalities of Ioannina, Konitsa and Preveza.
